Types of Surfaces To put a Steel Building

Types of Surfaces To put a Steel Building

There are a variety of surface to build a steel building. The most popular of course, is concrete. We need at least a 4" slab to place a building. A 12" x 12" footer around the perimeter to mount the building to is ideal.

We can also mount to dirt, sand, gravel and asphalt with no problem using a variety of anchors for the type of soil. The main concern is the mounting surface is flat. A shim can be used for a small discrepancy up to 4".

Mounting on top of a pair of shipping containers is also becoming a popular option. We weld the base rail on the roof or the container for a leak free job. We can also bolt it on but most likely, you will get leaks.

Lastly, a lot of people are switching from canvas to our steel buildings for boat covers for their dock. The durability of steel will far outlast that of any canvas and is priced much more economically.

We can mount in pretty tight quarters as well. If a wall needs to be mounted, a 2' clearance is preferred. Some close quarter building will require and additional fee. Same goes with dock and container builds and well as mounting one leg on a retainer wall.

There are limitations to what we can build on so just reac out if you have any questions.
